NCAA rules allow college coaches to watch an athlete workout only one time between April 15 and May 31. Coaches can’t have contact in person with any of these athletes or their parents. Coaches are not allowed to view players on Sundays. In addition, coaches cannot attend a workout/combine that “tests” the athletes. Our event does not do any testing.
The Marketing Workout is very similar to the format of the Barton Football Academy camps. We want each athlete receiving lots of reps, and to let college coaches see how the player moves and plays on the field in a football environment. Greg and Taylor Barton will head the Marketing Workout with assistance from coaches in the Barton Football Academy.
The Marketing Workout is for seniors (to be) and we also have a limit on the number of players allowed in each of our three sessions.
We will have junior and sophomores (to be) alternates who can sign up on a waiting list. If our maximum numbers are not met by the seniors, then we will put the juniors & sophomores in the workout. Juniors & sophomores can have an excellent learning experience to help them when they are entering their senior year of high school. In addition, they will be seen by the college coaches.
The cost for this event is $100 per registrant.
This includes a workout t-shirt with the players registration number on the front and back (for college coaches to easily identify each player). Each college coach will be given a packet containing the participants’ name, registration number, position, grade, school, grade point average, height, weight, home and cell phone numbers, home mailing address, home email, coach’s name and his contact numbers. Participants will supply that information to us when they register for the event.
We will have three sessions; two for quarterbacks and skill position players and one for lineman and punters/kickers. Session 1 is for Oregon quarterbacks and skill position players. Session 2 will be lineman and punters/kickers from everywhere in the country and from Canada. The third and final session is for Washington (and any state other than Oregon and the country of Canada) quarterbacks and skill position players.
